As Chair of the Park County Travel Council, Cody Yellowstone, I help to oversee a $4.5 million annual budget that supports one of the most important parts of our local economy. I also recently served as Vice Chair of the Wyoming Office of Tourism, an appointment by the standing Governor, where I helped oversee a $43 million biennial budget supporting Wyoming's second-largest industry and the businesses, workers, and the communities that benefit from it.
When Cody's Fourth of July fireworks were at risk of disappearing, I didn't wait for someone else to fix the problem. I helped found the Cody Fireworks Committee and continue to serve as its chairman so our community could preserve a tradition that brings Americans together every year.
I'm also proud to serve on the PEAKS to Conga steering committee, helping support families facing cancer, and on the Cody Culture Club, because strong communities are built through arts, history, culture, and local events. Through Blair Hotels, my family has also been committed to giving back by supporting veterans, youth sports, education, women in crisis, cancer support, hunger relief, and many other organizations that strengthen Park County.
I don't share these experiences to seek recognition. I share them because I believe voters deserve to know whether the people asking to represent them have already demonstrated a commitment to serving their community. Service, showing up, listening, and doing the work should not be campaign slogans. They should be habits.
Representation should not begin when campaign season starts. It should be proven long before that.
